Dr. Sirish Nelivigi has worked in the field of cataract and glaucoma for period of 25 years. In these years he has had extensive experience in both the fields, establishing himself as a leader in the domain of related eye care.

After qualifying as a medical practitioner (1995) form JJM Medical College (Davangere, Karnataka, India), he completed his Postgraduation in Ophthalmology (D.O.) from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, India. He later completed his Diplomate of National Board (DNB) examinations in year 2000. He subsequently went ahead to do an Advanced fellowship in Anterior Segment (FIAS), Sankara Eye care Institutions at Coimbatore, India. The fellowship gave him experience mainly in Cataract and Glaucoma surgeries in addition to corneal transplantations, Oculoplasty (eye lid surgeries, Lacrimal sac surgeries), etc. Following the fellowship, he joined Sankara Eye Hospital, Coimbatore as a Consultant where in his stint of about 4 years he performed extensive number (more than 20,000) of cataract, glaucoma and other surgeries there. He subsequently went for a short term Glaucoma fellowship at Arvind Eye Hospital at Madurai. In 2003, he joined Nethradhama Super Specilaity Eye Hospital, Bangalore, as head of the Department of Glaucoma where he continued till November 2012.

In these long years of experience, he has gained proficiency in the field of Cataract and glaucoma, gaining national recognition. He has been responsible in training a lot of doctors in Cataract and Glaucoma surgeries.

He is a regular invited guest speaker in state and national conferences of repute in addition to international conferences too. He has several publications as well as chapters in Ophthalmology text books.
